Children's Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida is proud to announce their new fatherhood mentorship program, "Level Up! Dads". We are seeking any man who is confident in his abilities as a father to help mentor other fathers, boyfriends, step-fathers, and relatives who find themselves in the position of a father, but lacking the support and confidence needed to meet their full potential. Volunteers will be matched and paired with clients based on children's ages and number, interests, and values and will be allowed to grow their own relationship, be it as simple as weekly phone calls, to as in-depth as regular outings and meet-ups. Your goal as a Dadvocate will be to offer support, guidance, and education to these men putting in the effort to be the best version of themselves possible for their children. Dadvocates are asked to maintain at least once per week contact with their assigned Dad as well as check in with program staff every three weeks. BuddiesOur Buddy volunteers must go through training before starting as a volunteer. Once they complete the training, they will sit in a group with the children & help facilitate the activity for the night and help engage the children. Hours for this opportunity are from 5:30pm-8:30pm The group is held Monday-Thursday The next training is October 14th from 9am-5pm and October 15th from 1pm-5pm.

Many assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes have special memory care “neighborhoods” for dementia patients.The Atrium at Liberty Park has a special area for residents who have memory disorders like dementia or Alzheimer's and is seeking volunteers in high school to interact with seniors for a multigenerational experience. This experience looks great on resumes and college applications for those interested in medical or social sciences. Hours are flexible, with availability 7 days a week.
