Description

In 37 countries and territories across the world, United Way creates meaningful volunteering opportunities -- both virtual and in-person -- that make it easy for people and organizations to tackle some of the most challenging problems facing communities.

This year, United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades will work with the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation to clean up a preserve just before the Sanibel Bridge.

     SCCF

Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation

Founded in 1967, SCCF's mission is to protect and care for Southwest Florida's coastal ecosystems through our focus on Water Quality Research, Policy and Advocacy, Sea Turtles and Shorebirds, Native Landscaping, Habitat and Wildlife Management, and Environmental Education.

Thanks to the efforts of many who came before us, we are the largest private landowner on Sanibel Island, managing more than 1,200 acres on Sanibel plus more than 600 additional acres on surrounding islands.

Task

Community members throughout Lee County will assist in clean-up efforts to restore the preserved land before the rainy season begins. Close-toed shoes/work boots, long sleeves, bug repellent, a water bottle, and sunscreen are highly recommended.

Parking will be at the Bimini Bait Shack. Carpooling is suggested.
