We are seeking reliable and community-minded volunteers to support our mission of reducing senior hunger and isolation. This multi-faceted role ensures our pantry remains organized and that our homebound neighbors receive the essential nutrition they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities (one or multiple of the following if interested):
Pantry Upkeep: Assisting with the organization, stocking, and inventory management of our in-office food pantry.
Monthly Packing: Preparing and packing nutritious food bags in an assembly-style setting for monthly distribution.
Home Delivery: Driving a personal vehicle to deliver pre-packed food bags directly to the homes of senior clients, providing a brief, friendly check-in during the drop-off.
Requirements:
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 25 pounds unassisted (typical weight of a grocery bag).
Reliable Transportation: Access to a personal, reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license is required for all delivery-related tasks.
Commitment to Service: A dependable schedule and a compassionate, respectful attitude toward our senior community.
*Level 2 Background Screening is required of ALL volunteers for Senior Friendship Centers prior to your volunteer opportunity beginning.
