Fort Myers Beach needs help at their Community Resource Centers set up throughout the island. These stations aim to provide much needed essential resources to the community like restrooms, showers, laundry services, and helpful information.
Volunteers are needed per day 7 days a week. Transportation is limited due to the conditions of the island. All volunteers should meet at 11101 Summerlin Square Drive, corner of Pine Ridge Road and Summerlin Square Drive for an 8am pick up. A Town of Fort Myers Beach transit van will take the volunteers to the beach and pick them back up at 4:15pm at Incident Command Post located at 2525 Estero Blvd to be transported back the Beach Park & Ride Station.
All volunteers should understand that the beach area is facing catastrophic conditions, including foul smells. For safety reasons, please wear work boots that can get dirty, bring strong work gloves along with sun protection and a facemask that will protect from the sand and wind.
Volunteers will be asked to receive and organize donations, assist at information desks, serve meals, etc.
Please inform Alison the day before or morning of so that transportation can be arranged from the bus stop to the site.
