Volunteer: Assist Seniors in Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation FacilityInterested in gaining some experience working with seniors who live in a medical environment? The Lodge at Cypress Cove is seeking volunteers in high school to interact with seniors for a multigenerational experience. Many volunteers have an opportunity to work alongside our nurses, nursing assistants, and physical therapists. This experience looks great on resumes and college applications! Hours are flexible, 7 days a week. The following is a typical schedule and activities that volunteers assist with. 8:30am: Help pass out the Daily Chronicles and greet residents 9:30am: Assist residents to the morning activity and help to lead the activity. 1:30pm: Assist residents to the morning activity and help to lead the activity Assisting residents to and from activities includes encouraging the residents to attend, pushing a wheelchair, or walking alongside those who use a walker. Examples of Activities: Provide manicures, socialize with residents, assist with arts & crafts, BINGO, room-to-room food-related programs, and physical and cognitive activities (beach ball toss, trivia). Maybe you have a special talent or passion that you could share with our residents. And of course, we love well-behaved dog visits!
