Opportunities From: United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades

United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades in conjunction with local Emergency Management will be the liaison in connecting volunteers to partners needing assistance.

Help your friends and neighbors first with any pre- or post-storm assistance!

Please respond and complete your profile, if you are interested in being contacted in the event of an emergency. Once it is safe to enter the community we will reach out and notify you of available roles.

Examples of opportunities:  

Salvation Army may need volunteers to help in their mass-feeding mobile kitchensAssist Points of Distribution sites with water and supply managment The American Red Cross may need volunteers to case-manage victims of a hurricane and direct them to  temporary assistance  An elderly person may need volunteers to help clear debris from their yard or flood-soaked carpet  removed from their home  Home-bound victims may need water or food delivered by volunteers and many, many more opportunities. 

As you know due to the far-reaching devastation, many of our partner organization of volunteers have deployed up north. GPIA is in need of skilled and unskilled volunteers alike to assist with the damage in our own community. 

Opportunities include muck and gut, debris removal, personal item packing etc. We are also in need of dump trailers.

As we know the road to recovery is long, but together we are stronger than the surge.

 

We have several Mobile Pantry Distributions in Lee County (Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Lehigh Acres) that are in great need of volunteer assistance to help with client registration.
