Volunteer

Our volunteers are a huge part of what makes Calusa Nature Center & Planetarium a success. You can earn volunteer or service-learning hours in a number of areas such as: animal care, education, gardening, landscaping, maintenance, office work, planetarium/museum docent and more! 

Looking for FESTIVITY FUN?  Our Annual Haunted Walk and Holiday Light events are always looking for committee and event day volunteers too.

Internships

We offer a wide variety of professional internships at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate school levels. We work directly with each individual student to develop an internship plan to focus on the goals and responsibilities of the student to maximize the real-world experience provided. 

Internships we have available but are not limited to: 

• Environmental Education
• Research
• Wildlife/Zoology
• Non-profit Management
• Marketing and Public Relations
• Physics/Astrophysics and Astronomy 
• Event Planning and Fundraising
• Hospitality and Tourism
