Description

Students for Seniors - Students for Seniors

An assisted living residence or assisted living facility (ALF) is a housing facility for people with disabilities or for adults who cannot or who choose not to live independently.

What does it mean to be in memory care?

Memory care is a form of residential long-term care that provides intensive, specialized care for people with memory issues. Many assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes have special memory care “neighborhoods” for dementia patients.

The Atrium at Liberty Park has a special area for residents who have memory disorders like dementia or Alzheimer's and is seeking volunteers in high school to interact with seniors for a multigenerational experience.

This experience looks great on resumes and college applications for those interested in medical or social sciences.

Hours are flexible, with availability 7 days a week.

Monday-Friday: 3pm-6pm

Saturday & Sunday: 10am-3pm

Volunteers can assist residents in the dining room and with activities.

Examples of Activities: Manicures, socializing with residents, assisting with arts & crafts, BINGO, room-to-room food-related programs, and physical and cognitive activities (beach ball toss, trivia).
